I Don't Make Sense Without You
Thursday, June 21, 2012 at 2:18PM I'm happy to announce my very first solo gallery show will be in Newcastle, England starting July 13th (and will run until August 18th).
The show is entitled I Don't Make Sense Without You.
Because my work originated (and will continue to evolve) on the street, I've often said that the value of it depends almost entirely on how much the viewer relates to or appreciates it. One could say this applies to any kind of art, but it's my feeling that this notion is especially applicable to street art- a medium that invades your world without you pursuing it. As I've spent that last eight months attempting to transform my work into a gallery setting, my ambition has always been to keep the street elements in tact on an emotional level. While it may be impossible to have the exact same kind of dialogue running that I aspire to have with strangers that accidentally come upon my posters in the street, the idea of creating a more intimate relationship between myself and the viewer through humor, hope and encouragement is one I hopefully was able to maintain in the gallery. The title of the show is derived from this sentiment and I can't wait to invite the people of Newcastle (and beyond) to visit a tiny world transformed into an extension of it.
