My Slippery Mind

Sunset & Heavenhurst.

I went out this weekend to put up a couple posters. For some reason I decided to try around the Sunset area figuring I'd turn around at Doheny. As I made my way down Sunset, it felt like everything was moving in slow motion. Everything that is, except for the unyieldingly hot rays of the sun, which if I'm correct, stood a mere 14 feet away from my air-conditionless car all day long. As it turns out, the parking lot that Sunset blvd. became was due to the music festival that I had been hearing about and seeing giant billboards for this past month or so. It seemed to have slipped my slippery mind on the one day I felt the unexplainable urge to head in that direction. Nevertheless I managed to get up a few posters and make my way out of the sea of half drunk Angelinos. The kind you almost never want to run into at a bar for fear of getting stuck in an endless one sided conversation about their body cleanse, oh and do you have a match for their Parliament Light?

This one I had to cut down to fit the phonebooth. I always enjoy when I can get up on a new kind of surface than I usually do, especially when the sentiment fits. A while back this phonebooth had a cool piece of a woman kissing a man in an old timey diving suit. I missed it and wanted to fill the empty space its absence left in my heart.

Sunset & Queens Rd.

This one I put up a few blocks down. The entire time I was worried that the parking lot attendants wouldn't go all vigilante on me. These days just about anybody can have a taser, pepper spray, switchblade or medievil lance and you never know who will take their job serious enough to challenge you to a joust. Luckily they didn't seem to care as they were too busy parking cars for insane Mötley Crüe fans... or worse Methods of Mayhem fans (or should I say "fan"). I like to imagine being that one guy at the show screaming: "PLAY 'GET NAKED!!! PLAY 'WELCOME TO PLANET BOOM' FROM THE BARB WIRE SOUNDTRACK!'" And then after the show, making sure that Tommy Lee gets his chai tea exactly how he likes it, just like a good personal assistant should.

I apologize if this post seems a little judgemental. I blame sun stroke.
